Tongcheng Travel's 2026 Mid-Autumn holiday report shows Shanghai's
interprovincial bookings rose 29% versus this year's Dragon Boat holiday. Top
five source regions for cross‑province trips were Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Beijing,
Guangdong and Anhui. Shanghai ranked among the top 10 Mid‑Autumn destinations.
Nationally, hotel bookings for urban micro‑vacations by consumers born in the
1990s and 2000s rose 24% YoY; the share of stays of two nights or longer
increased by 6 percentage points. Shanghai bookings concentrated around major
attractions, commercial districts and cultural/museum venues.
