MOFCOM’s US and Americas bureau said the eighth round of US‑China trade talks produced an agreement to extend the Kuala Lumpur joint arrangement. In October 2025 both sides had agreed to suspend parts of each other’s tariffs and non‑tariff measures through Nov 10, 2026; the talks agreed, on the basis of extending that arrangement to Jan 10, 2027, to continue actively exploring the issue with the aim of reaching a mutually agreed solution.

The Baltic Dry Index fell to a near-four-week low, dropping 158 points (4.61%) to 3,268, its lowest since Sept. 1. The Capesize index slid 433 points (7.49%) to 5,351; Capesize daily earnings fell $3,930 to $45,024. The Panamax index eased 5 points (0.21%) to 2,402; Panamax daily earnings declined $42 to $21,620. Supramax rose 4 points (0.22%) to 1,790, and Handysize ticked up 1 point to 1,012.
