Israel’s prime minister’s office said on Sept. 28 local time that Prime Minister
Netanyahu traveled to Abu Dhabi on Sept. 27 for a meeting with UAE President
Mohammed bin Zayed. He was accompanied by senior security officials including
the Mossad chief, the National Security Council chairman, the prime minister’s
military secretary and the head of Shin Bet’s security division. Shin Bet has
filed a formal complaint with the IDF military prosecution seeking legal action
against Channel 12, alleging the broadcaster “leaked” the trip nearly an hour
before Netanyahu’s plane returned and that the leak constituted a “serious
threat” to the security of the prime minister and the delegation.
