Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei and Palantir CEO Alex Karp
will attend a Tuesday lunch with President Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson
to discuss AI risks; OpenAI president Greg Brockman is also expected. Amodei met
Trump on Sunday and Senate Majority Leader John Thune on Monday. Amodei and
other industry figures have urged slowing advanced AI development to address
risks. Johnson said Congress 'may' need an AI regulatory framework but
legislation will take time; near-term passage is unlikely as the House is
recessed until after the midterms and the Senate plans a pre-election recess
later this week.
