House Speaker Mike Johnson has launched a six-week midterm campaign sprint, planning visits to 22 states and more than 40 congressional districts before Election Day, Axios reports. The effort is aimed at defending the Republican House majority as the political landscape tilts toward Democrats. The Cook Political Report on Friday moved ratings for 15 House seats toward Democrats and said Republicans must win most of the remaining swing districts to retain control. Johnson’s itinerary is split roughly evenly between defending vulnerable GOP-held seats and targeting Democratic-held districts.
