Reuters, citing two people, says the White House has urged the EU to release
emergency diesel stocks to help lower global diesel prices. The Trump
administration, seeking to cut fuel costs ahead of mid-November elections, is
weighing measures including pressing foreign stock releases, curbing US diesel
exports and coordinating with refiners to boost domestic supply. White House did
not immediately respond to requests for comment.
