The Financial Times reports mediators are pressing to restart U.S.-Iran talks.
After mediation between U.S. and Iranian officials on Monday, mediators expect
to deliver a revised interim agreement to Iran on Tuesday under which Iran would
allow free passage through the Strait of Hormuz and the U.S. would lift a
blockade on Iranian ports. The draft links those moves to follow-up measures
including U.S. restoration of oil waivers, permission for Iran to sell oil and
limited access to frozen overseas assets, and arrangements to allow IAEA
inspectors to return; officials said talks have progressed but parties are still
bargaining over the sequencing of implementation.
