Ulaanbaatar, Sept 29, 2026 — China's Vice Finance Minister Liao Min led a
delegation to the 25th ministerial meeting of the Central Asia Regional Economic
Cooperation (CAREC) mechanism. Liao said CAREC has delivered significant results
over 25 years and pledged China would leverage its industrial advantages with
member states to deepen regional connectivity, consolidate and expand
cooperation in priority areas, promote digitalisation and AI, and align CAREC
with the Belt and Road Initiative, Global Development Initiative and Global
Governance Initiative to generate practical outcomes. He added China’s economy
is running broadly steady, with 1H growth at 4.7%, and said China has the
confidence, ability and conditions to maintain stable, healthy growth and secure
a strong start to the 15th Five-Year Plan.
