Riksbank Governor Thedéen said raising the policy rate early in November would be appropriate. He said the bank can proceed at full speed for now, but by November it may need to slow its pace.

On Sept. 30 the PLA Southern Theater Command deployed naval and air forces to conduct combat‑readiness patrols in the territorial waters, airspace and adjacent sea/air areas around Huangyan Island (Scarborough Shoal).
