South Korea's Ministry of Economy and Finance projects 2026 tax revenue of 478.6 trillion won (~$353 billion), up 28% year-on-year and 63.2 trillion won above the estimate used in this year's supplementary budget. The ministry said the upside is mainly from larger-than-expected tax receipts tied to semiconductor firms' profits, special dividends and equity trading. The forecast would push annual tax revenue past 400 trillion won for the first time and about 21% above the previous record set in 2022.
