PENTAGON chief Hegseth announced SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, Anduril founder Palmer
Luckey and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich will lead the Meridian project to
study future warfare and next-generation military capabilities. The advisory
study is framed as an examination of critical areas, weapons and systems for
future conflicts rather than a policy-writing body. Final results are expected
within 120 days, with both a public version and a classified report to be
issued. The assignment is Musk’s first formal advisory role in the Trump
administration since last year’s public dispute. SpaceX performs U.S.
national-security launches; Anduril supplies electronic-warfare gear,
interceptors, rocket engines and unmanned combat systems to the Defense
Department.
