The Swiss National Bank bought foreign currency worth CHF1.4 bln ($1.7 bln) in Apr–Jun, down from CHF3.9 bln in Q1, signaling continued sales of the franc to offset safe‑haven inflows during the Iran war. The SNB said it had "increased" its readiness to intervene when the conflict began but has since reverted to more neutral language. The franc was roughly stable against the euro in Q2 at about EUR1 = CHF0.92 at both quarter start and end; since July the currency has weakened about 2.4%.

KOSPI closed down 32.77 points, or 0.48%, at 6,838.04 on Wednesday, Sept. 30.
