Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said on Oct 1 the Pakistan
military carried out precision airstrikes on two “terrorist camps” inside
Afghanistan. Islamabad’s preliminary report said 22 militants were killed and
large quantities of weapons and ammunition destroyed. Afghan government
spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the strikes in eastern Kunar province early on
Oct 1 killed nine people and injured 11, including women and children; Kabul
condemned the action as “aggression and crime.”
