Market pricing for near-term Bank of England tightening has firmed, pushing gilt
yields to multi-year highs and the pound stronger. LSEG data show rising oil
prices have intensified inflation concerns, leading investors to price roughly
four BoE rate hikes by July 2027. The 10-year gilt yield touched 5.509%, its
highest since 2007, while the 30-year yield hit 6% for the first time since
1998. EUR/GBP fell to a seven-week low.
