China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) said it will step
up protection and utilization of industrial heritage, establish a national
industrial heritage archive database and build a high-quality protection system.
MIIT will integrate cultural empowerment across the full manufacturing value
chain and promote the industrial design sector. It will pursue
culture–technology–industry integration, develop new ideological-education,
science-popularization and cultural-tourism consumption scenarios, and launch an
industrial culture digital programme. MIIT also said it will deepen application
of 5G, Beidou, virtual reality and artificial intelligence and support
industrial-themed film and cultural production and dissemination.
