The Policy and International Cooperation Department of the China Internet
Network Information Center (CNNIC) released its Generative AI Application
Development Report (2026). The report says China’s autonomous AI innovation is
accelerating and generative AI is extending enabling effects across industry,
agriculture, services and research, lifting sector digitalization and
intelligence levels. Embodied intelligence is among the most active development
areas, with applications in industrial production, surgical procedures and
consumer services. The report estimates China’s annual whole-unit production of
humanoid robots could exceed 100,000 units in 2026.
