The Nasdaq Composite hit an intraday record on Monday as mega-cap techs led early gains: NVIDIA (NVDA.O) +1.3% near its prior high, Meta (META.O), Microsoft (MSFT.O) and Tesla (TSLA.O) each rose over 1%. Seven of 11 S&P 500 sectors advanced while the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index slipped 0.1%. Over the past six months US equities have outperformed global peers on strong earnings expectations despite geopolitical uncertainty and persistent inflation concerns, but Treasury yields remain near cycle highs, keeping risk appetite muted amid worries over deteriorating public finances, heavy debt issuance and elevated energy costs.
