Bloomberg reported Germany and France wrote to European Commission president von
der Leyen urging new EU powers to revoke single-market access for countries that
disrupt trade and to set mechanisms reducing dependence across multiple supply
chains; the letter did not name China and the EU is reportedly reviewing its
trade relationship with China. Asked whether this would affect European
Commission vice‑president Sefcovic’s visit to China later this week, Foreign
Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said China-EU supply chains are deeply integrated
and interdependent, bilateral economic ties are mutually beneficial, and urged
the EU to resolve concerns through dialogue, jointly safeguard global
supply-chain stability, and promote healthy, stable China-EU trade; he referred
specific questions to relevant Chinese authorities.
