Nikkei reports Murata Manufacturing will invest about JPY9 bln to expand production of ceramic raw materials for electronic components at its Okayama facility, citing rising AI-related component demand. Construction at the company’s headquarters factory is due to start in October, with production targeted for April 2028; incremental capacity was not disclosed. Murata’s ultrafine, high‑purity ceramic materials are widely used in MLCCs, and the company holds the largest global MLCC market share.
