Two EU diplomats said the IEA governing board will hold an informal meeting on
Wednesday at 13:00 local time (19:00 Beijing) to discuss a proposal to release
oil and diesel stocks. EU member-state representatives met Wednesday morning to
review the same proposal. Last week the G7, after pressure from Trump, agreed to
release 100 mln barrels of crude and diesel from emergency reserves and pledged
to avoid export curbs. Oil and energy industry sources say it remains unclear
how many barrels Europe and the US will actually release to relieve supply
shortages and record-high prices.
