Japan Exchange Group said it will raise Kioxia Holdings' free‑float factor in
TOPIX from 15% to 50% in its periodic review, lifting the company's weight in
the index from about 0.57% and likely triggering buying by TOPIX‑tracking funds.
SMBC Nikko Securities estimates passive inflows could reach roughly ¥2.0 tln
(about $12.7 bln) based on end‑August close, exceeding Kioxia's 30‑day ADV of
about ¥1.4 tln. The expected index demand may support Kioxia's share price after
momentum faded since its June record high; the stock has recently lagged peers
such as Advantest, which hit a record this week.
