U.S. President Trump said on Wednesday he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize but voiced skepticism about his chances, saying, I don't know how they'll ultimately decide and they might in some way not award it to someone like me, ahead of the Norwegian Nobel Committee's announcement of the 2026 prize on Friday. Since returning to the White House last year, Trump has repeatedly said he merits the award; in the Oval Office he added it's about time and noted he was previously honored indirectly when a laureate said no one in history deserved the prize more than him.
