Commerzbank analyst Thu Lan Nguyen said concerns over France's fiscal position
could weaken the euro in the near term. She said Marine Le Pen's plan to rein in
public spending offers only temporary relief and that her simultaneous call for
ECB intervention to give eurozone governments greater fiscal space adds to
market strain. French central bank governor Mulan said he does not see a need
for ECB intervention now. Nguyen said continued market tension in this context
is understandable.
