The State Administration for Market Regulation has launched a nationwide
rectification targeting false advertising in online food sales, focusing on
seasonal items, internet‑famous products and health foods, and pledging zero
tolerance for false or misleading claims. Year-to-date regulators inspected
821,000 food operators, identified 72,000 violations, opened 14,000
investigations, levied 61.304 million yuan in fines and referred 289 cases to
public security. Online platforms removed large volumes of illicit links and
false promotional content; incomplete qualification disclosures were corrected
and overall compliance among food sellers improved.
