OpenAI told investors its annualized revenue was about dlr50bln as of
end-September, below recent media estimates of dlr70bln, the Financial Times
reports. Sources said the gap reflects differing revenue scopes: ANTHROPIC
counts sales routed through cloud partners such as AWS and Google Cloud as
revenue; OpenAI does not. Investors had earlier adjusted OpenAI figures to an
August annualized run-rate of dlr40bln and, combined with the company’s
disclosure of revenue growth exceeding 70pct, extrapolated to dlr70bln. OpenAI
declined to comment.
