As Baltic states move to block Russian grain through their ports, Lithuania said it will push the EU to ban Russian grain transit and to sanction Russian agricultural oligarchs. The Lithuanian prime minister said prior tolerance reflected the principle that EU sanctions do not cover food; Lithuania will propose a transit ban and support adding specific Russian agricultural figures who back the war to the EU sanctions list. She said she has discussed the issue with Latvia’s prime minister and both favour seeking an EU-level solution.

The National Energy Administration said it directed local authorities to refine charging-assurance plans and use information platforms for monitoring and emergency dispatch to meet large-scale National Day travel demand. Monitoring-platform data covering 62,700 highway charging connectors show Oct 1-7 charging sessions totaled 6.711 million, energy delivered 163 million kWh, and a daily average of 23.2566 million kWh, up 51.42% YoY.
