Australia will introduce a bill next week to provide a legal basis for its
Domestic Gas Reservation Scheme, sources directly involved said, finalising a
controversial plan to force LNG producers to reserve up to one-fifth of output
for domestic buyers. A May draft required a 20% reservation; after industry
lobbying the government said in September the exact share will be set annually
using a rolling five-year demand forecast, and two sources said they do not
expect any exporter to receive a full exemption.
