Yandex said on Friday multiple modules at its Kaluga-region data center were
disabled by a drone attack, marking the company's second data‑center strike in
two days. The company said some services may be affected and reported no
injuries. On Thursday a drone attack hit a Yandex data center in Ryazan region
southeast of Moscow; that site hosted two of three supercomputers used to
develop the company's AI models. Yandex is assessing damage and cannot yet
confirm whether affected equipment can be repaired or returned to service. Since
the start of the year Russian and Ukrainian forces have expanded drone attacks
on economic targets, including energy facilities, refineries, ports, oil- and
grain-carrying vessels, e-commerce warehouses and data centers.
