Meituan and frontline rider representatives signed a 2026 labor-rules and
algorithm consultation agreement in Beijing. The company will raise fee
weightings for difficult deliveries (overweight, large-volume, walking up/down
stairs), increase compensation for deliveries in adverse weather, and continue
the policy eliminating late-delivery penalty deductions. Meituan will also keep
optimizing en-route order dispatch, delivery time limits and merchant prep-time
estimates, gradually expand a red-light stop-timer pilot, and push to implement
pension insurance subsidy measures to reduce riders’ social-insurance burden.
