Slovakia's economy minister Sakova said Slovakia is considering potential US crude supplies to diversify away from Russian oil, but will continue importing Russian oil in 2027.

Saudi civil aviation authority said on Oct. 9 Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport was hit multiple times on Oct. 8; two of the attacks killed three Saudi nationals and left several others injured. The authority said the airport has resumed operations and air traffic is back to normal. A state-owned airline said one of its aircraft was damaged at King Khalid on Oct. 8; there were no passengers on board, and the carrier reported one employee killed.

The finance ministry’s 1H 2026 fiscal policy execution report says it will optimize a fiscal–financial coordinated package to boost domestic demand, strengthen inter‑departmental and central‑local coordination to better support household consumption and crowd in private investment. It will coordinate use of ultra‑long special sovereign bonds, local government special bonds and central budget investment, shifting funding toward new productive capacity, new‑type urbanization and projects with strategic significance or that raise total factor productivity, and backing major projects in the 15th Five‑Year Plan.
