At an Oct. 9 advanced manufacturing conference in Guangzhou, Guangdong party
secretary Huang Kunming said the province will prioritize demand‑led,
application‑driven development, with a focus on cultivating application
scenarios, opening them to market use, and building new infrastructure such as
computing‑power networks to make Guangdong the preferred platform for scaling
new technologies from point breakthroughs to broad application. He urged
integration of basic research, targeted technology R&D and commercialization, a
push toward high‑end, self‑reliant and practical innovation, strengthened R&D
deployment in strategically contested and frontier fields, intensified efforts
on key core technologies, and wider promotion of foundational, advanced‑process
and common technologies to support the advanced‑manufacturing supply chain.
