Foreign ministers of Canada, Denmark, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, the
Netherlands and the United Kingdom issued a joint statement reaffirming firm
support for the International Criminal Court’s independence, impartiality and
integrity, expressed regret at the US decision to impose sanctions and said they
strongly oppose the move; the ministers warned the sanctions, if implemented,
would significantly affect the court’s work.
