Oct 9 — Shanghai and Shenzhen markets posted combined turnover of 1.9006 trillion yuan, up 218.43 billion yuan from the prior session. Shanghai turnover was 888.56 billion yuan (previous 811.18 billion), volume 535 mln lots (previous 482 mln); Shenzhen turnover was 1.012 trillion yuan (previous 870.94 billion), volume 633 mln lots (previous 533 mln). Zhongji Xuchuang led stock-level turnover at 21.09 billion yuan, followed by CATL 16.03 billion, Changxin Technology 14.98 billion, Xinyisheng 14.6

On Oct. 8 the Congressional Budget Office estimated the US federal budget deficit for FY2026 at $2.0 trillion, $218 billion above FY2025. The CBO projects revenues to rise $169 billion (3%) and outlays to increase about $386 billion (6%). Spending growth is concentrated in net interest on the debt, major entitlement programs, defense and education; revenue gains are driven mainly by higher individual income and payroll tax receipts.
