A roadside bomb detonated on a road near Zahedan in Iran's southeastern Sistan-Baluchestan province on the 9th, killing one policeman and injuring several others, TASNIM News reported. The police vehicle was struck while officers were on duty, and a local police spokesman said the main planner was shot dead while attempting to flee.

The unemployment rate rose 0.1ppt to 6.5%, though Mendes said the increase would have been larger absent a near 30-year low in the participation rate.
