China's Ministry of Education held an on-site AI-for-teacher development
conference in Beijing, launching an upgraded Teacher Development Center on the
National Smart Education Platform and initiating nationwide, full-coverage AI
literacy training for teachers. The new center includes an AI literacy zone that
integrates AI learning resources, intelligent tools and professional learning
communities to support both self-directed study and compulsory training. The
first course used immersive, scenario-based demonstrations by frontline
teachers, principals and education bureau chiefs showing AI across the full
teaching chain—pre-class, in-class and post-class—for lesson preparation,
classroom instruction, student assessment, pedagogical research/reflection and
school governance, aiming to move teachers from "learn AI" to "use AI" to
"create AI" and to better support differentiated instruction.
