Spokesman Colonel Chen Xi said Japan, despite post‑WWII obligations to eliminate militarism, is using alleged regional security threats as a pretext to accelerate remilitarization, seek gradual loosening of the Three Non‑Nuclear Principles and push security policy in a more offensive, expansionary and risky direction. Beijing warned the resulting "new militarism" is mutating out of control and poses a direct challenge to the post‑war international order, the nuclear non‑proliferation regime and regional peace and stability.
