Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport halted arrivals and departures after eyewitnesses reported an explosion sound at Terminal 3 on Oct. 10; terminal staff were evacuated. Flight-tracking site Flightradar24 showed no flights operating at the airport and said some inbound services were diverted or returned. The airport advised passengers to contact their carriers to confirm flight status.

Former UK prime minister Boris Johnson called the US decision to lift sanctions on Russian fuel disgusting, said blaming Ukraine for recent oil-price rises is obviously absurd and argued the increase began with the Strait of Hormuz closure. He accused the White House of trying to make US motorists pay for Putin's "massacre", said the policy will not succeed and doubted it would materially affect fuel prices.
