Former New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, largely out of politics for
more than three years, has publicly endorsed Labour leader Chris Hipkins in a
video appeal urging donations ahead of the Nov. 7 general election. Ardern — who
led Labour to a 50% vote share in 2020 — said she wholeheartedly supports
Hipkins and asked supporters to contribute what they can. Her intervention comes
as polls show both the incumbent National Party and Labour losing support, with
voters increasingly shifting toward smaller parties offering distinct policy
visions.
