New Delhi prepared for a second day of youth protests on Sunday as demonstrators demanded the resignation of the Indian election chief. A court ordered the release of 'Cockroach' movement founder Deepak and two other senior leaders who were detained on arrival Saturday; 'Cockroach People's Party' lawyer Rattan Singh said they were released on the condition they refrain from disturbing the peace for one year. Police detained more than 2,000 people and sealed central Delhi to thwart a planned gathering of thousands at Jantar Mantar. Mobile internet and metro services were restored, but thousands of police and paramilitary personnel remained deployed across the city. Authorities said most people detained on the first day were released late Saturday.
