DBS Group CEO Chen Shushan said markets are reassessing risks tied to AI
infrastructure investment, which could lead to tighter financing discipline as
investors demand higher returns and scrutinize deal structures. Markets are
testing whether large AI capex will deliver sufficient long-term returns to
repay debt, bonds or equity; DBS warned some weaker firms may face credit-rating
downgrades but called the repricing healthy for ensuring sustainable, profitable
AI investment. DBS said it has participated in about $20bn of AI-related
transactions this year, mainly as lead arranger on syndicated loans while
retaining only a small share of the risk.
