She said AI is replacing large volumes of repetitive, procedural work and reducing demand for some workers, while expanding low-paid roles in sectors such as construction. GEORGIEVA warned the transition could have deep fiscal consequences: AI may shift income from labor toward capital and weaken government tax bases that depend heavily on labor income.
