Ukrainian President Zelenskiy on the 11th told ABC that which leader Ukraine chooses should be decided by Ukrainian society and its people, responding to U.S. President Trump’s remark that Ukraine needs a new president. Zelenskiy said holding elections during wartime is very difficult, unsafe and would not comply with the constitution without security infrastructure to enable voting. He told Trump’s team Ukraine could hold elections if Russia agreed to a 60-day full ceasefire.

Deputy secretary-general Chen Shihua of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers said China’s auto exports are expected to continue growing in 2026, with annual shipments likely to exceed 10 mln vehicles.
