Nomura said rising US and European yields and credit‑risk concerns have materially reduced bond investors' risk tolerance. Investors remain willing to bet on higher JGB yields but are cautious about positioning for lower yields or buying duration. After meetings with North American investors Nomura flagged three priorities: the BOJ's terminal rate level, the pace of further tightening, and the risk of Japanese investor fund repatriation; it warned that "if US and European credit concerns deteriorate further, one must also consider the risk that global rate‑hike expectations could temporarily recede."

In a CEO blog dated Oct 12, HKEX said it is actively studying an extension of derivatives night trading hours. The exchange will launch market discussion on extending equity trading hours, aiming to find a proposal acceptable to market participants. HKEX also plans consultations to optimize listing rules for specialized/technology firms and the GEM and to attract more international primary and secondary listings. HKEX is working with mainland partners to prepare inclusion of REITs in Shanghai/Shenzhen–Hong Kong Stock Connect and to include RMB‑denominated Hong Kong counters in Stock Connect.
