Goldman Sachs (GS.N) rose 1.1% in premarket trade ahead of its Q3 results.

At the mid-session close, China's commodity futures main contracts were mixed. Methanol fell more than 6%. Soda ash and 20# rubber dropped over 3%. Red dates, synthetic rubber, natural rubber, ethylene glycol (EG) and alumina each declined over 2%. On the upside, low-sulfur fuel oil (LU) rose nearly 6%, benzene gained more than 4%, fuel oil climbed over 3%, and SC crude oil and styrene (EB) advanced about 2%.

China equity index futures at midday: CSI 300 index futures (IF) main contract down 0.19%, SSE 50 index futures (IH) down 0.33%, CSI 500 index futures (IC) down 0.15%, CSI 1000 index futures (IM) down 0.14%.
