NVIDIA (NVDA.O) CEO Jensen Huang said the company will announce an additional
$2bn investment in Europe next week, on top of about $8bn deployed over the past
year, expanding its regional footprint. Huang will visit London and Berlin and
committed fresh funding to four French startups: medtech Doctolib, robotics firm
Genesis AI, enterprise software Pigment and AI-driven chemistry/materials
company Entalpic. Addressing European concerns over AI safety and data-center
energy use, Huang opposed slowing AI development, saying it can be developed
safely and drive economic growth; he added open-source models can help Europe
close the AI gap with the US by enabling language- and tech-specific
customization and urged Europe to accelerate participation in the AI race.
