U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle resigned on Oct. 13 after being
accused of misconduct. Guilfoyle said she will “vigorously defend” herself
against what she called “false” allegations. Media reports allege she accepted
luxury gifts and sought to use her influence within the U.S. government to
obtain money before and during her tenure; the State Department Office of the
Inspector General is investigating. President Trump told reporters on Oct. 12 he
was considering removing her.
