Hong Kong equities closed with the HSI up 0.30% and the Hang Seng Tech Index down 0.79%. Port & transportation, gold and power equipment led gains. Chip stocks pared losses in the afternoon. Stock 06809.HK dropped over 5%.

BOT Deputy Governor Piti Disyatat said at IMF and World Bank meetings in Bangkok the central bank is unlikely to cut policy rates below the current 1% unless hit by a major economic shock. As monetary policy gradually normalizes, borrowing costs are expected to rise and could reach about 1.5–2%. He said Thailand's policy stance remains accommodative versus many peers because growth is below potential and inflation is relatively mild.
