Bank of Korea Governor Shin said further won appreciation would be beneficial and has boosted household purchasing power since the central bank moved to tightening. He said the BoK will maintain a restrictive monetary stance until it is confident inflation can return to target in a timely manner. Shin added a stronger won shifts growth toward domestic demand and helps narrow the K-shaped divergence; inflation, the exchange rate and financial-stability risks currently point to the same policy direction, easing the bank’s policy trade-offs.

Chinese delegation participated in the ITU Radiocommunication Sector (ITU‑R) WP5D meeting in Geneva, Sept 28–Oct 8, 2026. The ninth WP5D session in the WRC‑27 study cycle concentrated on IMT terrestrial technical, operational and spectrum issues: candidate new spectrum bands for IMT; spectrum proposals for direct‑to‑handset satellite services; submission processes and templates for future 6G proposals; review of the draft CPM report for WRC‑27; and study findings on interference‑protection rules between direct‑to‑handset satellite systems and IMT.
