China's State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) issued a notice
launching a special rectification of risk hazards in saturated‑steam spherical
tanks. Design firms for newly manufactured sphere tanks must carry out
design‑stage risk assessments based on client conditions, including
caustic/alkali stress corrosion, corrosion fatigue, assessment of hazards from
saturated‑water flashing and possible explosions, and analysis of instrument
impulse‑line freezing risk in low‑temperature use. Required mitigation measures
include post‑weld heat‑treatment and weld‑joint hardness testing, periodic
testing of in‑tank saturated water quality, automatic internal water‑level
control, and optimization of insulation‑layer structural design.
