Guangzhou Municipal Computing Industry Development Co. Ltd was officially
established, majority-held by Southern Power Grid Digital Grid Group with
investment from Guangdong Yixun Technology (a China Telecom wholly owned unit),
Guangzhou Digital Science Group and Guangzhou Hengyun Group. The firm is China's
first central-local JV explicitly tasked with compute–power coordination.
Guangzhou said it will use the company to accelerate a citywide, interconnected
and jointly dispatched compute network, coordinate timing of compute and power
infrastructure buildout, expand high-quality compute supply, and position the
city as a real-time inference compute hub for the Guangdong‑Hong Kong‑Macao
Greater Bay Area.
